Unless you have been living in a cave, you know that its awards season. Last Sunday, Staples Center, Los Angeles hosted the 61st Grammy Awards 2019 ceremony that saw an abundance of glamour and shine, all thanks to our favourite celebrities.
From super-slick suits to embellished sequins and a surprising amount of lace, music’s biggest night saw some cutting-edge and bold sartorial innovations. Let’s talk about some show-stopping and some really disappointing fashion moments from the Grammys Red Carpet. Also read – 10 Best Red Carpet Looks from 2018
Lady Gaga at the Grammy Awards 2019
Singer-Actor Lady Gaga dazzled in her strapless sequin Celine metallic dress by Hedi Slimane. The charmingly decorated outfit had ruffled side appliqués and a high slit that suited her sculpted physique graciously. She chose minimal accessories like a wreath-style necklace and princess-cut diamond earrings by Tiffany & Co. and Jimmy Choo platform sandals.
Havana Singer Camila Cabello
Camila’s recent musical release ‘Havana’ has won every pop music-lovers’ heart much like how she won our hearts with her Red Carpet appearance, donning a pretty flamingo pink outfit. Her bedazzled high-collar Armani Privé gown was adorned with sparkles all over and had a plunging backline. She styled her hair in a low ponytail, showing off her glittery Harry Winston diamond cluster drop earrings.
Cardi B at the Grammy Awards 2019
Cardi B took ‘the world is your oyster’ to a whole new level in a vintage Mugler Couture outfit (from the 1995 collection). It featured a sheer bodysuit and a black skirt that was styled to open into a structural shell-like creation. She accessorized with matching soft pink gloves and Gismondi earrings and a whole lot of pearls around her waist, choker-style necklace and twisted around her beehive hairstyle.
Popular Singer Shawn Mendes
The ‘In My Blood’ singer looks like the perfect boy next door as he was spotted walking down the red carpet in a cobalt super slim blue tuxedo (sans the tie) by Paul Smith paired up with a black shirt underneath and black boots. While we totally love the look, the jury might be divided on the extra-slim choice of trousers.
Miley Cyrus at the Grammy Awards 2019
Our favorite Hannah Montana Star chose to make her Red Carpet appearance in a black oversized tuxedo jacket by Mugler (sans any shirt) which was paired with cropped flared back pants. She kept her hair down, styled in beautiful beachy waves and accessorized the look with Loree Rodkin earrings. Miley looked super cute and delightful giving off major newly-wed vibes!
Katy Perry or Pink Bubble?
The Singer stunned the onlookers in an outfit-to-remember but not in the way she might have wanted. Katy Perry is normally a highlight of the best-dressed lists at any event she attends, so her sartorial faux pas at the Grammys have disappointed the fashion critics’ big time. Her ensemble consisted of a voluminous bubblegum pink Balmain Couture gown. It had a silver accent at the bodice and pleated bubble skirt. She accessorized the gown with jewelry by Neil Lane and Swarovski, as well as Jimmy Choo heels.
Drake at the Grammy Awards 2019
The Best Rap Song winner picked up his award in a suave Tom Ford look. The coordinating dark roll neck worn with a gold chain added some retro finesse to the outfit.
Dua Lipa at the Grammy Awards 2019
Dua Lipa epitomized grandeur in a strapless Versace gown with mixed textures of silky gray fabric and gleaming stones. The dress screamed magnificence because of a beautiful sweetheart neckline and a shiny skirt embellished with sequins. Her Bulgari diamond necklace added an extra edge to the bling.
Jennifer Lopez Was Looking Like a Dream
Jennifer Lopez made her appearance in a Ralph & Russo sleeveless gown featuring an embellished high neckline. She paired it up with a flat wide-brimmed hat with matching bedazzled detailing. The sparkly halter-neck style is glamorous, with an eye-catching design. Minimal accessories with this dress should have been the way to go. Hence, the Cowboy-styled hat doesn’t seem to do much justice to her overall ensemble.
Post Malone at the Grammy Awards 2019
Musician Post Malone looks strikingly flamboyant in a suit that stands out of the crowd most certainly. He turned up in a glittery salmon-coloured jacket adorned with silver embellishments with matching pants. The singer didn’t shy away from pairing up the ensemble with a bedazzled silver belt and pink cowboy boots.
Kylie Jenner at the Grammy Awards 2019
Kylie Jenner made her Grammy debut in an asymmetrical baby pink halter Balmain Haute Couture jumpsuit. She seemed to have taken a break from her usual outfit choices as she went for exaggerated sleeves and an oversized fit.
Alicia Keys at the Grammy Awards 2019
The 15-time Grammy winner and this year’s host, Alicia Keys looked spectacular at the red carpet. She was seen wearing a custom Armani Privé crimson long-sleeve gown with a plunging neckline. We love the structured pattern at the shoulders and the buttons lining the center.
Leon Bridges at the Grammy Awards 2019
This singer-songwriter could easily be one of the best-dressed men at the red carpet. He stood out in a brown-colored fresh off the New York Fashion Week runway suit by designer Emily Bode. Bode customized the Corduroy suit by adding patches of designs describing moments from Leon’s life.
This annual awards show is a celebration of all things music. And as we can see, all the Who’s Who of the Hollywood Music Industry attended it. Not just that, America’s former first lady, Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance and took the audience by storm.
